Sandra Felzen is from Rio. For six years (1981-86) she lives in New York where she studies drawing & painting at the New School with Avron Soyer and at Carol Bruns's studio in Soho.

Since 1985 she has held solo and group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad. Back in Rio de Janeiro in 1986, she sets up a studio in the Jardim Botânico neighborhood to dedicate herself entirely to the Arts. Before traveling to New York, Sandra took several courses at the Parque Lage School of Visual Arts.

Her academic training as a Bachelor in Chemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1976) starts at PUC-Rio. Her experiences in labs at universities support her to handle materials and colors with skill. Still in New York, she obtained an MSc degree in Environmental Sciences from the Polythecnic Institute of NY. Working at the State Foundation for Environmental Engineering / FEEMA, formulating environmental control laws related to the quality of water resources, helps to enrich her interest in environmental issues that have always been dear to Sandra.

For three years (1993-96) she lives in Chicago, where she intensely develops her artistic search. As a result, her strong connection in matters of Art and Nature are decisive in Sandra's artistic and personal path.
